Our concrete calculator allows you to accurately work out the amount of concrete you'll need for your project. Simply add the measurements for your concrete order to the relevant shapes above (you only have to fill in the shape/s you want to use) You can build up a concrete calculation for complicated areas by adding additional shapes of each type.

Please note that this concrete calculator can only use one unit denomination of inches, feet, millimetres, centimetres or metres. The same measurement format must be used for length, width and depth.

Entering measurements

We know measurements can be a real hassle, when laying concrete - and if not done correctly, the results can be far from what you expected. For example, when using feet to enter dimensions you must enter 10 feet x 6 feet x 0.5 feet (for 6 inches). It is not possible to enter 6 for depth as this will calculate 6 feet not 6 inches.

We realise this can be confusing, so to help you convert inches for depth into feet please see the information below. It is important that you insert the decimal when entering the measurement e.g. 0.17 not 17.

Inch to feet conversion table

1 inch = 0.09 feet4 inches = 0.34 feet7 inches = 0.59 feet10 inches = 0.84 feet
2 inches = 0.17 feet5 inches = 0.42 feet8 inches = 0.67 feet11 inches = 0.92 feet
3 inches = 0.25 feet6 inches = 0.5 feet9 inches = 0.75 feet

This same principle applies when dealing in metric. If you enter your first two measurements, (for example, 5 metres x 3 metres) and your depth is 6 inches or 150mm, you would enter this as 5m x 4m x 0.150 = 2.3 cubic metres.
